2B Poughkeepsie Journal Thursday. December 4. 1986 Mary C. O'Connell WAPPINGERS FALLS Mary C. O'Connell, 76, of Remson Avenue South, died Tuesday at Vassar Brothers Hospital, City of Poughkeepsie.

Mrs. O'Connell was a supervisor for Blue Cross Blue Shield in New York City until her retirement in 1972: She had been living with her daughter since 197S. She previously lived at Brookside Gardens here. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls.

Mrs. O'Connell was born in Faug heen County, Tipperary, Ireland, April 21, 1910, the daughter of James and Catherine McNamara Power. On Nov. 21, 1929, in New York City she married John O'Connell, who survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Ann Moore, with whom She lived, Margaret Hickey of College Point (Queens County) and Mary Agnes Juhn of Bayshore, Long Island; five sons, Patrick O'Connell of Wappingers Falls, James O'Connell and Jack O'Connell, both of Yonkers, Thomas O'Connell and Joseph O'Connell.

both of Pleasant Valley; three sisters, Hannie Bartley, Madge Moore and Kattie Clancy, all of Ireland; a brother, Paddy Power, also of Ireland; 25 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.

Obituaries Garry Scott Bacon Newall David MacWilliams Flora L. Teator RHINEBECK Flora L. fcator, 80, a resident of the Baptist Home for the last year, died Tuesday at Northern Dutchess Hospital here. Mrs. Teator lived in Red Hook for most of her life and then she spent four years living with her daughter in Hyde Park before moving into the.

nursing home. She was a member of the Altar Guild for Christ Church in Red Hook for more than 40 years. She was born in Red Hook Aug. 31, 1897, the daughter of John D. and Jessie Feller Rider.

Mrs. Teator was a 1915 graduate of Red Hook High School. She was married to Alva C. Tea tor, who died in 1979. Mr.

Teator had operated the former Twilight Bus Louise Connors DALLAS, Texas Louise J. Connors, 56, formerly of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday at her Peyton Drive home. Mrs. Connors worked for IBM Poughkeepsie until her retirement in 170. She lived in Dallas for 15 years.

She was bom in Pawling July 15, 1930, the daughter of Chester and Anna Burhans Robinson. Mrs, Connors attended Pawling schools. She was married July, 1949, in Poughkeepsie to Raymond H. Connors, who died Feb. 10, 1986.

Mrs. Connors is survived by a daughter, Terry Ann Holmes of Dallas; five sisters, Bessie Clark of An cram (Columbia County), Marion Reyes of Bridgeport, Beatrice Kginger of Poughkeepsie, Mildred Pruitt of Poughquag and Shirley Smith of Hopewell Junction; a brother, Robinson of Holmes; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Joseph J. Harrow Sr.

MacWilliams, who lived in the Town of Poughkeepsie for 31 years, retired from IBM East FishkiU in 1972.. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, a past treasurer of the IBM Retirees and a member of the Mendelssohn Club. He was a deacon, trustee and church elder of the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church. He also sang in the church choir. Mr.

MacWilliams was born in Morristown (St. Lawrence County) July 25, 1911, the son of David John and Nellie So per MacWilliams. He was a 1933 graduate of Clark son College in Potsdam (St. Law rence County). On July 4, 1937.

in Concord, N.H., he married Virginia Temple, who survives. Other survivors Include a son, Dr. Peter S. MacWilliams of Madison, a daughter. Donna MacWilliams Mears of Pleasant Valley; four grandchildren, a nephew and several cousins.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Alien Funeral Home, Main Street, Pleasant Valley. Memorial services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church, Ma in. Street The Rev.

COLD SPRING Garry Scott Bacon, 84, an engineer at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital in Montrose (Westchester County) from 1950 to 1969, died Wednesday at St.

Francis Hospital, Town of Poughkeepsie. Mr. Bacon, of Lane Gate Road, lived here for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born in Albion (Orleans County) June 2, 1902, he was the son of Garry Scott and Mary Cronk Bacon. He was married to Betty Pearce, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Garry Scott Bacon Jr. of Greenville, N.C; a daughter, Rosie Moshier of Beacon and four grandchildren. There are no calling hours.

12603. Doris Virginia Bonanno Man who hosted president dies at 66 WAPPINGERS FALLS Doris Virginia Bonanno, 59, a resident here since 1967, died Tuesday at her Woodmere Road home. Mrs. Bonanno previously lived in Poughkeepsie. She was born in Hyde Park March 21.

1927, the daughter of Thomas H. and Violet H. Quick Breen. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. On NoViO, 1949, in St.

Joseph's Church in New Paltz she married Justin "Gus" L. Bonanno, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Deborah A. Slaninka of Kingston; three sons, David L. Bonanno of Salt Point, Jeffrey L.

CLINTON, Mass. (AP) Edward J. Thompson who played host to Jimmy Carter in 1977 during the president's first "people to people" visit has died following a brief illness.

Thompson, a native of Clinton, died Tuesday at the age of 66. The Thompson family was selected to serve as Carter's host overnight during the "people to people" visit The president returned the hospitality in 1978 by Inviting the Thompsons to a state dinner at the White House and again in 1979 with an invitation to a reception honoring Pope John Paul II. Thompson said he never knew why his family was chosen to host the president except that his house was big enough to accommodate everyone and could be well guarded. He refused an offer to sell the bed the president slept in. "I'd just have to buy another," he quipped.
