PAGE 1-A January 1, SUNDAY TWO Poughkeepsie SE New Yorker SOCIETY 104 Plans have been completed for the annual New Year's day open house and Tea dance which will be held today at the Poughkeepsie Tennis club. The event, which in set from 4 o'clock until 7 o'clock, is under the co-chairmanship of Mrs. Charles T.

Brose and Mrs. John B. Fitzpatrick. Decorations will be in Peeping with the holiday theme. The party is planned for members of the club and their guests.

Leslie Ackerman Weds Miss Iverson Miss Caroline Emilie Iverson, Mamaroneck, and and Leslie were Ackerman, Poughkeepsie Rye, ried at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

The ceremony took place in thew's Lutheran church, Wauwatosa, Wis. The Rev. William officiated. The bride the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

J. E. Iverson, Wauwatosa. Mr. Ackerman's parents are Mr.

and Mrs. Fred P. Ackerman, 7 West Cedar street. Church decorations were red and white Christmas poinsettias, Christmas trees and palms. The bride was given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin bridal gown.

It WAS fashioned with An Illusion yoke embroidered, seed pearls and bugle beads, a fitted bodice, long sleeves and a full skirt of unpressed pleats ending' in a formal train. Her three-quarter length French Illusion veil was attached to white tulle coronet entwined with pearls. She carried shower bouquet of white carnations and. roses. Mrs.

Jack Edwards, Baraboo, was her sister's matron of honor. She wore a princess gown of forest green velveteen with a carnation onet. Her flowers were red and white carnations arranged with trailing gold tinted Ivy leaves. The other attendant, Mrs. Allen Leisk, Detroit, wore a gold velveteen gown, carnation coronet, and carried red carnations with the gold -tinted Ivy leaves.

Carol Ann Edwards, Baraboo, niece of the bride, served as the flower girl. Her frock of red velveteen was made princess style and she carried a basket of red and white carnations. The bride's mother was dressed in aqua with matching hat. Her corsage was of orchids. Dewey Holmberg, Stougtiton, Mass, served as Mr.

Ackerman's best man. Ushering were Jack Edwards, Wis, William O. Dill, Wauwatosa, Frederick Lindemann, Milwaukee, and Major Robert R. Davis, New York City, A reception was held after the cerenony at the Wauwatosa Women's club Later, the couple departed for wedding trip to Fort Lauderdale. Fla.

They will live at 34 Halsted place, Rye. For traveling the bride chose forest green suit, black French lace blouse, black hat topped with a pink lilao-cluster. Devy Erlih To Be Featured In Third Concert Devy Erlih, violinist, will be featured in the third concert of the season sponsored by the Poughkeepsie Civic Music association.

The program is set for 8:15 o'clock Thursday night at the Poughkeepsie High school- auditorium. The doors will be opened at 7:30 o'clock. Born in Paris In 1928, Erlin, now on his third American concert tour, received the first prize of the Conservatorie de Paris in 1945 and shortly thereafter made his debut with the Pasdeloup orchestra. He WAS the first French violinist to be invited to play in occupied Berlin. In England, he appeared with the London Philharmonic, the London Symphony and the BBS.

He has also been heard in Paris with the Colonne orchestra. Opening his program, he will play the Vivaldi Concerto in Op. 3, no. 3, "Allegro Moderato," "Largo," and "Allegro." For his second group, he has chosen, "Sarabande and from Partita No. 2, Bach, for violin alone, and Martinu's Sonatine, No.

5, for alone, "Allegro expressivo," "Adagio," and 'Allegro." Concluding the program, Mr. Erwill play "Popular Rumanian Dances," Bartok: Sonata in major, Op. 12, No. 1, con brio," con variazioni," and "Rondo," Beethoven; Bloch, and "Russian Dance," Stravinsky. Mrs.

24 Postponement of the scheduled Poughkeepsie Junior league meeting has been made known by Mrs. Maxwell Gosse, president. The change has been made because of the Vassar Hospital Association meeting which has been scheduled for Monday, Jan. 9, the original date of the Junior league dinner meeting. The Junior league will have its annual guest dinner meeting on Tuesday, Jan.
