Ruth Smith Coulter, 66, of 363 South Road, Town of Poughkeepsle, died Friday at Vassar Hospital after a short illness. She was born jn Lynbrook, L.I., March 26, 1909, the daughter of Frederick and Florence (Jones) Smith. An area resident since 1930, she was president of the Poughkeepsle Visiting Nurses Service and past president of the Poughkeepsle Day Nursery. She was a member of the Mahwenawaslgh Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Poughkeepsle; the Daughters of New England Women; Colonial Dames of America; the Dutchess Golf and Country Club, and Christ Episcopal Church. She was an honorary member of the Poughkeepsle Tennis Club and a Volunteer ambulance driver with the Dutchess County Red Cross during World War II.

Her husband, Dr. John M. Coulter a Poughkeepsle dentist, died on Dec. 28, 1969. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Smith Coulter, with whom she made her home; a son, John M.

FLA. John K. Bernhardsen, 77, of 3409 Cambridge Drive here, a former resident of Stanfordville, died Monday at Sarasota Hospital. Mr. Bernhardsen, a retired building contractor, resided in Sarasota for four years.

He was. a member of the Sarasota Grange and Bee Ridge Methodist Church and was an honorary member of the Stanford Grange. He was born in Norway, Jan. 15, 1898. Mr.

Bernhardsen is survived by his wife, Mary, a son, daughter and four grandchildren. Services were conducted at the Wilson Funeral Home, Sarasota and burial was in Sarasota Memorial Gardens. The Stanford Grange will conduct a memorial service Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bengali United Methodist Church, where Mr, Bernhardsen was a former member. Evangelists Set Appearance At City Church The Joe Talley evangelistic team will perform at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 153 Academy Tuesday through Sunday, Nov, 16.

The five member team has performed in America and in 79 couni tries throughout the world They play many musical instruments including Golden trombone, banjo, accordion, electric steel guitar, pinao organ and trumpet. They will appear at, the. church Tuesday through Saturday at 15 p.m. and on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m.

His wife is employed as a tax collector. Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Tague, Mrs. Eileen Swart, both of Poughkeepsie and Nancy, at home; a sister, Frances Hritz, two brothers, William, Poughkeepsie; and Louis, Boulder, a granddaughter, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 9:15 a.m.

at the Joseph S. Darrow Funeral Home 39 S. Hamilton St. The Rev. Francis Bergin will officiate.
