An hour of visitation will take place from 10 to 11 am, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc, Rte.

9, Hyde Park. The American Legion will conduct services during the visitation. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Pastor John Ft Thomas of Tabernacle Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.

Mowris, 89, a Lfs longtime Hyde died Sunday April 5, 2009, at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. Mr. Mowris worked at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center for thirty years until his retirement An avid outdoorsman, Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing, and tending to his vegetable and fruit garden.

He also enjoyed raising tropical fish and racing sled dogs. He was a member erf the North American Sled Dog Association. Me Mowris served in the US. Army during World War and was a 50 year member of the John Livingston American Legion Post 1466 in Poughkeepsie Born in Pine Plains on August 21, 1919, he was the son of tie late Fred and Grace Scott Mowris. She sang on the American Forces Network.

After her army service she taught nursing at Saint Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She acted in many local area plays including The King I The Sound of Music "She Loves Me and The Merry Widow Mrs. Reifler had been a member of Vassar Temple in Poughkeepsie for over 60 years and had been the soloist in the choir. She sang at the dedication of the Poughkeepsie High SchooL Born March 6, 1922 in Waterbury CT she was the daughter of Morris and Pearl Goldberg. She was a 1939 graduate of Watertown High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from Simmons College, School of Nursing in Boston in 1944.

On May 16, 1948 she married Aaron Reifler and they were happily married for 53 years. Mrs. Reifler is survived by her two daughters, Sylvia Reifler of Chestnut Hill, Ellen Reifler of Swampscott, her son Stewart Reifler of Westport, Conn; a brother, Robert Gilbert of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Paul Reifler Messenger, Elizabeth Reifler Messenger and Jonathan Perry Reifler. She was predeceased by her husband, Aaron Reifler. Funeral services will be at 11 am, Tuesday at Vassar Temple, 140 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie.

Rabbi Paul Golomb will officiate. Burial will be in the Vassar Temple Cemetery, Lagrange Ave. Poughkeepsie. Arrangements under the direction of Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave, Poughkeepsie. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 15, 1936 to J. Patrick and Marian Toole. She was one of three children who loved attending the Detroit Tigers' baseball games with her Dad.

She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy at Eastern Michigan University and was married to Duncan Howard Vibert on June 20, 1957 and moved to Hyde Park, New York. Duncan Vibert was a senior programmer at IBM in Poughkeepsie, New York until he passed away Jury 29, 1964. They had three children and she remained in Hyde Park, New York. She was married to Lawrence Ong on December 14, 1965. They had one son.

Lawrence Ong was employed by Fitchett Brothers' Dairy until he passed away on September 14, 1987. Maureen relocated to Charleston, South Carolina in 1988 where she continued her studies at Medical University of South Carolina She was employed by Candler Hospital as an Occupational Therapist before retiring in 2001. She loved riding horses, ice skating, playing bridge and, once she moved to Savannah, she loved spending time at the beach with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Jann and her brother, Donald OToole. She is survived by a sister, Kathy Milne of Alpharetta, Georgia; children, Stephen Vibert of Jasper, Georgia, Charlene Gardner and husband, Michael of Bluffton, SC; Sheila Vibert Curley and husband, Bob of Savannah, GA and Michael Ong and wife, Amy of Cartersville, GA and nine grandchildren; Joshua, Brandi, Erica, and Blayne Vibert; Jeffrey and Drew Gardner, Morgan, Michaela and Matthew Ong.

A family memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Respite and Resource, 3001 Meeting St, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926. Wilma Quinlan, 92, of the Town of Poughkeepsie died Monday April 6, 2009 at The Pines in Poughkeepsie.

Born in Poughkeepsie on July 5, 1916, she was the daughter of Willis and Annie Jaycox Bunnell Wilma was a graduate of Arlington High SchooL She married Joseph E. Quinlan, Electrical Contractor in Poughkeepsie in 1941. Mr. Quinlan predeceased her in 1979. She was a former secretary at A.C.

Dutton Lumber Co. and 25 years in business with her husband. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Peg" Cotte of Stanfordville; and nephews Peter Bunnell of Princeton, NJ and Francis Ryan of LaGrangeville. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Bunnell There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held Wednesday 10 am at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.

She was a graduate of the Pine Plains High SchooL Skid-more College with a BA in English at the State University of New York at Albany with an MS in Library Science. She taught English at the Pine Plains Central School and later was the librarian at the Pine Plains Free Library.

She also worked for the 5 county Mid-Hudson Library System as the adult services consultant Helen was a life long member of the Episcopal Church of the Regeneration in Pine Plains where she was organist and served on the altar guild. She was a former member of the Pine Plains Council of Churches and was a member of the Little Nine Partners Historical Society, the New York Altar Guild and the Chancellor Livingston Chapter of the DAR. On July 2, 1942 she married E. Matthew Netter who pre deceased her in 1990. She is survived by a daughter, Mary (John) Phillips of Kinderhook, NY and a grandson Matthew Phillips.

The family would like to thank the staff of the 4th floor at Barnwell Nursing Home for the compassionate and loving care they gave to Helen during her stay there.
