2B MID-HUDSON OBITUARIES Wilma Quinlan Wilma B. Quinian, 92, of the Town of Poughkeepsie died Monday, April 6, 2009 at The Pines in Poughkeepsie. Born in Poughkeepsie on July 5, 1916, she was the daughter of Willis and Annie Jaycox Bunnell. Wilma was a graduate of Arlington High School. She married Joseph E.

Quinlan, Electrical Contractor in Poughkeepsie in 1941. Mr. Quinian predeceased her in 1979. She was a former secretary at A.C. Dutton Lumber Co.

and 25 years in business with her husband. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Peg" Cotte of Stanfordville; and nephews Peter Bunnell of Princeton, NJ and Francis Ryan of LaGrangeville. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Bunnell. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 10 am at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Wilma's memory to American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parmele Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Poughkeepsie. Frank T. Strippel BEACON Frank T. Strippel, 86, of Port Charlotte, FL and formerly of Beacon, NY, died April 5, 2009 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center, Punta Gorda, FL.

He was a Test Technician for Texaco Research Facility in Glenham, NY, retiring in 1982. Mr. Strippel was in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was a former Redman and a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Beacon and St.

James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte, FL. Born May 9, 1922 in Beacon, NY, was the son of Harold O. and Aline Taylor Strippel. He was married to the late Ruth H. Strippel.

Survivors include his sister, Marion A. Mosher of Beacon and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Sgt. Stuart Strippel. Services will be held at Thursday, April 9, 2009 at St.

Luke's Episcopal Church, 850 Wolcott Beacon, with Father Edwin Cromey officiating. Interment will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, Beacon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 'St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 850 Wolcott Beacon, NY 12508.

Helen Cole Netter PINE PLAINS Helen Cole Netter, 96 of Pine Plains, NY died Thursday April 2, 2009 at Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie, NY. Born April 4, 1912 in Pine Plains she was the daughter of the late Harrie Cole and Mary Wilber Cole. She was a graduate of the Pine Plains High School, Skidmore College with a BA in English at the State University of New York at Albany with an MS in Library Science. She taught English at the Pine Plains Central School and later was the librarian at the Pine Plains Free Library.

She also worked for the 5 county Mid-Hudson Library System as the adult services consultant. Helen was a life long member of the Episcopal Church of the Regeneration in Pine Plains where she was organist and served on the altar guild. She was a former member of the Pine Plains Council of Churches and was a member of the Little Nine Partners Historical Society, the New York Altar Guild and the Chancellor Livingston Chapter of the DAR. On July 2, 1942 she married E. Matthew Netter who pre deceased her in 1990.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary (John) Phillips of Kinderhook, NY and a grandson Matthew Phillips. The family would like to thank the staff of the 4th floor at Barnwell Nursing Home for the compassionate and loving care they gave to Helen during her stay there. Friends are invited and may call on Thursday April 9, 2009 from 5:00 7:00 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 S. Main St. In Pine Plains NY.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday May 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Church of the Regeneration in Pine Plains. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mowris Hyde Park Eugene G. Mowris, 89, a longtime Hyde Park resident, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. Mr. Mowris worked at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center for thirty years until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to his vegetable and fruit garden.

He also enjoyed raising tropical fish and racing sled dogs. He was a member of the North American Sled Dog Association. Mr. Mowris served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a 50 year member of the John Livingston American Legion Post 1466 in Poughkeepsie.

Born in Pine Plains on August 21, 1919, he was the son of the late Fred and Grace Scott Mowris. On December 22, 1944 in Pine Plains, he married Katherine Winchell. Mrs. Reifler was a nurse and a professionally trained singer. She served the Army Nurse Corps in War II, stationed in England and France where she two battle stars, one in the tle of the Bulge. Reifler had been a ber of Vassar Temple in Poughkeepsie for over 60 years had been the soloist in choir. She sang at the dedication of the Poughkeepsie School. Born March 6, 1922 Waterbury, CT she was daughter of Morris and Goldberg. She was a 1939 uate of Watertown High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from Simmons College, School of Nursing in Boston 1944. On May 16, 1948 she married Aaron Reifler and they happily married for 53 years.

Mrs. Reifler is survived her two daughters, Sylvia fler of Chestnut Hill, Ellen Reifler of Swampscott, her son Stewart Reifler of Robert Westport, Gilbert of a brother, Texas; three grandchildren, Paul Reifler Messenger, beth Reifler Messenger Jonathan Perry Reifler. was predeceased by her band, Aaron Reifler. Funeral services will be at a.m., Tuesday, at Vassar ple, 140 Hooker Poughkeepsie. Rabbi Paul Golomb will officiate.

Maureen Ann Ong Maureen Ann Ong of Bluffton, SC, age 73, passed away on April 3, 2009. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 15, 1936 to J. Patrick and Marian Toole. She was one of three children who loved attending the Detroit Tigers' baseball games with her Dad. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy at Eastern Michigan University and was married to Duncan Howard Vibert on June 20, 1957 and moved to Hyde Park, New York.

Duncan Vibert was a senior programmer at IBM in Poughkeepsie, New York until he passed away July 29, 1964. They had three children and she remained in Hyde Park, New York. She was married to Lawrence Ong on December 14, 1965. They had one son. Lawrence Ong was employed by Fitchett Brothers' Dairy until he passed away on September 14, 1987.

Maureen relocated to Charleston, South Carolina in 1988 where she continued her studies at Medical University of South Carolina. She was employed by Candler Hospital as an Occupational Therapist before retiring in 2001. She loved riding horses, ice skating, playing bridge and, once she moved to Savannah, she loved spending time at the beach with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Jann and her brother, Donald She is survived by a sister, Kathy Milne of Alpharetta, Georgia; children, Stephen Vibert of Jasper, Georgia, Charlene Gardner and husband, Michael of Bluffton, SC; Sheila Vibert Curley and husband, Bob of Savannah, GA and Michael Ong and wife, Amy of Cartersville, GA and nine grandchildren; Joshua, Brandi, Erica, and Blayne Vibert; Jeffrey and Drew Gardner; Morgan, Michaela and Matthew Ong. A family memorial service will be held at a later time.
