Jean Dilworth FISHKILL, NY -Jean Dilworth, 90 years old, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was born September 23, 1918 in Winfield, Kansas, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Mae Hilton Dir. Jean had worked at Boscobel in Garrison for over thirty years.

She was a volunteer at Vassar Brothers Medical Center for over fifteen years and had also been a volunteer coordinator at Highland Hospital. She was very active with the Girl Scouts and received a 50-year pin for her involvement. Jean liked to play bridge and had been a member of the 28 Club. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Matinee Musical. On June 1, 1939, Jean married J.

Perry Dilworth, her husband of 68 years. Mr. Dilworth predeceased her on April 13, 2007. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Janeen Rawson and her husband, Joel, of Harrisville, RI and Marcia Plumb of Williamstown, MA; her sister-in-law, Jean Warren of Concord, CA; four grandchildren, Stephan Rawson, Emily Daniels, Gary Rawson and Amanda Rawson. The youngest of seven children, she was predeceased by her three brothers and three sisters.

A Memorial Service for Jean will be held on Saturday, March 14th at 11 a.m. at the Fishkill United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the Fishkill United Methodist Church, 38 Broad Street, Fishkill, NY 12524. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert H. Matthew Christopher Gatje HYDE PARK HYDE PARK Matthew Christopher Gatje, 19, a lifelong area resident, died on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at his home. Born in Poughkeepsie on June 19, 1989, he was the son of Christopher and Louise Newhard Gatje of Hyde Park. He was a 2007 graduate of Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School and became a professional painter. He loved to work with his hands and had recently joined the Carpenters Union and was employed as an Apprentice for Key Interiors in Poughkeepsie. As a child, Matthew played T-ball and CYO Basketball in Hyde Park.

As an adolescent, he enjoyed working out at Planet Fitness and riding his dirt bike. He loved cars and he loved animals, especially his dog, Cara. He will always be remembered by his family and friends as very kind hearted and compassionate. In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his brother, Steven; his grandparents, Joan and Jack Gatje of Hopewell Junction; his greatgrandmother, Laurette Gatje of Fishkill; his aunts and uncles, Cathy Newhard and Dave McCormack of Hopewell Junction, Michele Newhard of Newburgh, Ed and Susan Newhard of Naperville, IL, Debbie and David Ten Eyck of Junetion City, OR, Chris and Josie Newhard of Kentfield, CA, Kim and Gene Branson of Hopewell Junction, Thomas and Debra Gatje of Ridgefield, CT; his cousins, Melissa and Brett Newhard, Justin, den and Aaron Newhard, Danielle and Olivia Branson, Nina Gatje, and Matthew Francischini, and his great aunts and uncle, Ginny and Herman Staats and Eileen Newhard. Matthew was predeceased by his grandparents, Ed and Jean Newhard, and his grandparents, John C.

Gatje, Anthony and Josephine Cardea and Margaret Sullivan. There are no calling hours. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

Box 5005, Rhinebeck, NY 12572- 9913. Florence Wade TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIEFlorence E. Wade, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest, Friday, March 6, 2009 at her home in Poughkeepsie.

She was 92. Daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude Hough Werthamer, she was born April 27, 1916 in Johnson City, NY. She married Charles F. Wade on October 28, 1938 in Endicott, New York. Mr.

Wade preceded her in death on August 6, 1955. Prior to her retirement, Florence was a secretary for IBM, Poughkeepsie. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wappingers Falls since 1947. She was also a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her two sons, David C.

Wade and his wife, Christine of New Berlin, New York and Daniel S. Wade and his wife, Cynthia of Rougemont, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Allison, Gregory, Holly, Jason, April and Wayne; and seven great- grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on March 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, South Avenue in Wappingers Falls. She was a former evening Supervisor for Hedgewood Home for Adults, Beacon, for many years, she owned operated Suzy's Cozy Cafe, managed the "Old" Yankee Clipper Diner. Susan was a friend and mother to many, she is loved and will be sadly missed.

Born March 31, 1955, in Beacon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur F. Howard Theresa Flynn Howard (who still survives). She married John H. Lent. Survivors include husband, mother, children, Freddie Torres, Christina Torres her husband Brian, Rose Sharon Felix and her husband Doffy, Susan Torres and her husband Michael.

A sister Theresa Ann Grassi and her brothers Arthur F. Howard, Thomas C. Howard, Steven B. Howard. Her grandchildren; Kyler Ring, Nigel, Nicky, Neven, Nysiah, Nyliza, Michael, Julian, Mason, Lacianna.

Many nieces nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, March 16 from 2-4 7-9 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY. Services will take place on Tuesday, March 17 at 11:00 am at the Libby Funeral Home, Inc.

Germain BEACON Virginia L. Germain, of Beacon, NY, 89 years old, died peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Wingate at Beacon. She was born October 1, 1919 in Freeport, NY and was the daughter of the late James P. and Barbara Schroeher Boyden. Virginia was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster.

Her husband, Charles A. Germain predeceased her on June 10, 1981. She is survived by her loving son, Charles A. Germain, Jr. and his wife, Irene, of Carmel, NY; three grandchildren, Catherine Jagow and her husband, Rev.

Andrew, Susan Winter and her husband, Donald, and Maryann Kelly and her husband, Brian; three greatgrandchildren, Lily and Claire Kelly and Donald C. Winter; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, James Germain; two sisters, Hazel Ritzmann and Lillian Purdy and a brother, Francis Boyden. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 15th from 2-4 at the Robert H. Rose E. Hochmeister SHARON, CT Rose E. Hochmeister, age 102, an eight year resident of the Sharon Health Care Center, died peacefully on March 11, 2009. She had been employed for most of her life as a switchboard operator at a newspaper in Manhattan. She also volunteered several days a week at her church.

She was born in Rottendorf, Austria in 1906, the eldest child of Thomas and Mathilde (Paier) Hochmeister. Rose was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Mathilde, and her brother, Thomas. She is survived by her niece, JoAnn VanDeCarr of Hopewell Junction, NY and her family. After emigrating to America in 1924, Rose lived most of her life in Queens enjoying her gardening and pets. She loved traveling, reading history and writing long letters.

She and her sister, Tilli, retired to The Fountains in Millbrook in 1985. Even after her blindness, Rose stayed positive and cheerful. She will be sorely missed. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

He was 68. George was born in Hackensack, NJ on July 27, 1940. George was a US Marine, and then had a successful career as an accountant and controller before retiring in 2006.

He was an avid tennis player, photographer, and loved to volunteer with the Hospitality and Children's ministries at his church. Most importantly, though, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. He is loved and will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Marie Uzzalino of Locust Grove, VA; his three daughters, Marian Nelson and sonin-law, Christian of Alta Loma, CA, Lorraine Uzzalino-Del Grosso and son-in-law, Vito of Fredericksburg, VA and Catherine Hawkins and soninlaw, Brian of Longmont, CO; and his four grandchildren, Timothy, Gabrielle, Christian and Mikaela. He is also survived by his brother, Anthony Germano.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jean Uzzalino and mother Mercy. Kathleen W. Groschadl FISHKILL Fishkill, NY Kathleen W. Groschadl, 85 years old, a sevenyear resident of Fishkill, died peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 12, 2009.

She was born September 27, 1923 in the Bronx and was the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine Walsh McGilloway. Kathleen was formerly of Yorktown Heights and then Flagler Beach, Florida and had been employed for many years as a bank teller for Chemical Bank in Yorktown Heights until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. Her husband, Fred Groschadl predeceased her on May 12, 2000.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved children, Paul S. Groschadl and his wife, Patricia, of Fairport, NY; Ellen Kellard and her husband, Michael, of Vir- Milton L. Young, Sr. Stella Hritz SIDNEY, NY Milton L. Young, Sr.

85 of Sidney passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 7, 1923 son of the late Leslie and Bernice (Simpson) Young in Sidney. Milt served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1940 to 1944 and married Vivian Harnen on January 10, 1970 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a fireman for the city of Poughkeepsie until he retired in 1981. Milt was also a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church.

He is survived by: Wife Vivian Young, Sidney, son Daughter-in-law Milton Lee and Tracy Young, Sidney, Daughters and sons-in-law Maryjoy and David Morrison, Tennessee; Kimberly and Thomas Countant, Hyde Park, NY; Jacqueline and Edward Merritt, Hyde Park, NY; Lynette Sweet, Sidney; 8 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Milt was also predeceased by daughter Maryann Young and his Brother Robert Young. Friends may call Monday, March 16, 2009 from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM at C.H. HYDE PARK Hyde Park Stella Hritz, 93, a local resident since 1934 and previously of Amsterdam, NY, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Hyde Park Nursing Home. A 1937 graduate of the former Hudson River State Hospital School of Nursing, Stella worked as a registered nurse at the state hospital and a also did private duty nursing at local hospitals for many years until her retirement in 1972.

She belonged to the Hudson River State Hospital Nursing School Alumni Association, Quiet Cove Yacht Club at H.R.P.C., AARP, and CSEA Retirees Local Stella was an avid gardener, who adored her two cats, Bob and Jack. Mrs. Hritz was a communicant of Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park. She was born in Amsterdam on November 3, 1915. On October 15, 1938 at St.

Nicholas Church in Amsterdam, she married William J. Hritz. He predeceased her on April 2, 1992. Stella loved her family very much. She is survived by a daughter, Christina Morris of Hyde Park; granddaughter, Dawn Marie Morris and boyfriend, Rene Santiago, of Tonawanda, NY, and several nieces and nephews, especially Eileen Swart and husband, Dr.

William Swart, of Newburgh, George Hritz and wife, Mary Beth, of and Dennis Hritz and his daughters of Poughkeepsie.
